A mother was traumatized after her son arrived home dead in a taxi, according to a new lawsuit filed in a North Carolina court.

The mother is suing AlliedBarton Security Services after she claims that they her child in a taxi and sent him home even though he was already dead.

Hospital security guards said that they sent A'Darrin Washington, who was uncooperative and refused to talk or move, home from the Cumberland County Hospital.

A'Darrin had gone to the hospital for 10 years for the treatment of recurrent pneumonia associated with a disease he was suffering. A'Darrin was admitted to the hospital, and was misdiagnosed with bacterial pneumonia.

After being diagnosed correctly with fungal pneumonia he was given proper medication. The hospital said that he was ready to be released even though he still felt weak and sick.

The hospital called a taxi to take A'Darrin home the next day, and the security guards AlliedBarton transferred him from a wheelchair to the taxi, according to his mother.

"The nurse called security to escort Washington from the hospital to the taxi because Washington was uncooperative and refused to speak or move. Washington did not respond due to the fact that he was dead,” the lawsuit states.

Deborah Washington claims that the guards put her son in the taxi and even crossed his legs. When he came home after a trip of 45 minutes, he was cold to the touch.

She is seeking compensatory and punitive damages for negligence, wrongful death and negligent infliction of emotional distress.
