A man in China, was angry when his child skipped school so he gave him a beating in public.
In Western countries, the father would have been arrested and jailed, but in China, this father’s discipline was hailed as an example of what families should do to children who disobey.
The 8-year-old boy Nanchong of the Sichuan province, had skipped classes to play outside.
The father went driving on the streets trying to find his son, and located the child playing near the market.
In rage, the father grabbed the boy, stripped him, tied him to the tree and gave him the beating.
A crowd, all of whom were dressed in coats at it was cold, gathered around to watch.
One person reportedly asked the father to stop for the sake of the child, but others apparently applauded the father.
"Some children are very naughty and have to be taught a lesson," an eyewitness said.
"I think most people sympathized with the father because you do not get anywhere in China today without an education,” Xiu Ping said.
"It was a tough beating and the child was crying, but I bet he will never forget that lesson. He will probably think twice before skipping class again,” he added.
