One student was hospitalized after suffering from burns after a fire ripped through a synagogue in Birmingham, England.
The local fire department said that candles was the cause of a fire that left one person in the hospital and caused thousands of pounds in damage to a Hillel House in Birmingham last week.
Firefighters were called to tackle the blaze. About 38 residents were evacuated, with one student taken to the hospital for treatment. The student has already been released from the hospital.
The fire, which lasted about an hour, destroyed the library located on the ground floor, which also serves as a synagogue.
Residents were allowed to return to the building after the flames were extinguished.
According to a spokesperson for the West Midlands Fire Service, three fire trucks responded to an emergency call (999) at 9:30 p.m.
