A new immigrant, who is accused of killing her two children, is pregnant, according to prosecutors in Israel.
Karina Brill, the Jerusalem woman who allegedly killed her two children, Igor, 7, and Mira, 5, is pregnant and was pregnant during the murder.
Members of the Israel Prison Service will convene after Brill gives birth to determine if the baby can stay with her.
Social services will determine if the mother will be able to care for the baby, and if she can, the baby will stay with her until 2-years-old.
Last week, a psychiatrist determined that Brill was competent to stand trial and be held accountable for her actions.
As we reported earlier, a mother who murdered her two children, told investigators that she killed her kids because she wasn’t a good mother, according to a statement released by Israeli police.
Jerusalem Police said that for the first time, Karina Brill was questioned by investigators on Wednesday. Brill made her statement while lying in a hospital bed at Hadassah Ein Kerem in Jerusalem, where she continues to be hospitalized after she tried to end her life.
During questioning, Brill admitted to killing her two children, Igor and Mira.
Brill was asked what brought her to kill her children, and she said: “I felt that I was not a good enough mother to my children.”
