Now, Haredi men and women sat down to answers some questions about Jewish life, Jewish customs and Jewish law on sex.
You may think of religious communities as isolated and disconnected from the world, but hearing from theses people you will see that they are very conscious about their dress code and their outer appearance.
Mimi Hecht, who is a writer and fashion designer, gave an interview along with her husband, Moshe Hecht, who is a famous singer and songwriter.
The two, who belong to the Chabad sect, clearly respect and love each other.
Being a fashion designer, Mimi Hecht admits that she is open-minded to the world, to celebrities and to the latest trends of fashion, yet, like all Haredi women, she chooses to dress modestly and cover her hair.
The men talk about their identity and appearance, which reflect their heritage.
The way they look reflects what's important to them and how they want to be seen.
“Faith is the opposite of knowing, faith means I believe,” Matt Swerdloff, a Private Equity Manager who grew up in a family of nine children, explained.
“The connection to God is life style, the moment I wake up I say a prayer, and the last words before I go to sleep are a prayer,” he added.
“Everybody out there has to believe in something bigger,” Swerdloff explained.
Shloime Rosenberg, who is paramedic, proudly recalls how his grandparents raised 11 children in the Bronx, New York, and while most people in those days assimilated, all of his aunts and uncles remained true to their faith.
He contributes his grandparents’ success to his grandfather’s strict rules of following the Jewish tradition with which he was raised back in Europe.
