The Lev Tahor cult leader, Shlomo Helbrans, told his followers that Hitler and Stalin were good teachers, members of the Knesset were told today.
Knesset member Yaakov Margi of the Shas Party said that cult members are only allowed to change their babies’ diapers twice a day.
As we reported earlier, Interpol is preparing to issue an international arrest warrant against the Lev Tahor grand rabbi Shlomo Helbrans, after he allegedly forced a 14-year-old girl to marry a 40-year-old man, and for beating little children with a tire iron.
Following numerous complaints of severe child abuse against the cult leader, Israeli Knesset member Yariv Levin has summoned the Child Rights Committee.
The Child Rights Committee, headed by Knesset member Orly Levy-Abecassis of the Likud-Beiteinu Party, will convene on Tuesday for the special meeting, which will be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Public Security, the Foreign Ministry, the Justice and Welfare Ministry, the Lev L'Achim organization, Interpol, the National Council for the Welfare of Children, and victims of the cult leader.
To Child Rights Committee accumulated evidence and documenting shocking abuse against men, women and children of the Lev Tahor cult.
The cult leader goes by the name Shlomo Helbrans, but his legal name is Erez Elbrans.
The 50-year-old man has been convicted of severe child abuse in Israel and in the United States. He was last seen in Canada last week.
Helbrans is accused of hitting children with tire irons, forcing loving couples to divorce, forcing little girls into marriage with old men, forcing children to wear small shoes, placing people in solitary confinement, denying people of food, issuing monetary fines, placing little children with strange families against the wishes of parents for periods of two years or more from the age of six months, and forcing people to take psychiatric pills without being diagnosed by doctors.
