(Scroll down for video) An Israeli Arab mother was caught on video working with her little child to steal expensive electronics from an electronics store, according to video uploaded to the internet.
Residents of the city of Barta'a who saw the video were shocked to see a woman wearing a Muslim headscarf going shopping together with her son, 7, and ordered him to steal various electronics.
Two weeks ago, the woman entered the store selling mobile phones and consumer electronics. The video showed how she distracts the store owner, then, showing her son which iPad to steal. The video also showed how the son took an iPad, worth about $700.00, placed it into a bag and left the store.
"The fact that a woman who covers her face with a hijab did such a thing is very sad," Bilal Kabha, the store owner said. "She will probably do it again at another store,” he added.
Police suspect that this pair is already responsible for stealing six smartphones and other electronic devices. Another security camera showed the woman at another electronics store with her son, zeroing in on a product and walking away before paying for the item.
Concerned residents began to distribute images of the woman at stores, in an attempt to prevent the pair from striking again. It remains to be seen whether the images from the surveillance cameras will help police catch the woman.
