A man was arrested after he was allegedly moments away from killing his own children, according to police reports in Israel.
Less than a week after four children were killed by their parents, police were able to avert another disaster.
Yarkon District Police said that they arrested a father, who threatened to kill his children.
The father was driving with his children to Tel Aviv, while holding a gun.
The family, who knew what the father was doing, called police to report the incident so that they could locate the father.
The police used various technological means and were able to locate and stop the man. The children were with him, and were not harmed. The man was brought to the Magistrate’s Court in Rishon Lezion for a bail hearing.
Police got recordings in which the father was heard threatening to kill his children. "Fortunately, he was arrested before he could implement his plan," Police said.
This is a case very similar to that of Eli Gur, a former police officer, who threw his children off a roof before committing suicide.
Last week, a Jerusalem mother stabbed her own two children.
