A couple was arrested and charged with theft related charges after allegedly targeting elderly people, according to police reports in Israel.
Police said that a married couple from Kiryat Ata, 50, were arrested on Sunday for running a scam on an elderly person, another one out of ten over the past few months.
A police investigation discovered that the couple used to follow elderly people into their apartment. The woman used to impersonate an employee of the National Insurance Agency, and while inside the home, she stole items. Her husband acted as her lookout and getaway driver.
Yesterday, the two were caught red-handed, as they were leaving from an apartment in Kiryat Chaim. The two were arrested and questioned. They were brought before a Magistrate’s Court Judge, and they were remanded into custody.
