A man was arrested, charged and convicted of rape related charges for raping a teen girl after a wedding celebration they both attended, according to court proceedings in Israel.
Now, the Tel Aviv District Court sentenced the man to five years in prison. The man, a DJ, was convicted of raping the girl, who had worked for him. In addition, the defendant was ordered to pay the girl 100,000 shekels in compensation.
According to the indictment, the DJ met the girl, 16, at a bar mitzvah. He complimented the girl on her dancing skills and asked her to come work for him. After the girl’s mother approved of the man’s request, the girl began working for the man.
About two weeks later, they drove to a wedding hall in the city of Rishon Lezion, for work. During the wedding, the defendant gave the girl alcoholic beverages in celebration of her birthday. According to the indictment, the girl became drunk.
Later that night, the DJ took the girl to a side street and raped her. After he was done, he took the girl home. The girl told the court that she had lost her virginity that night.
The court ruled that due to the attack, the victim has lost her joy of life, is suffering from anxiety and depression, and has been suicidal.
