A man was arrested and charged with murder related charges after he killed another hotel chef after a fight broke out over alcoholic drinks, according to police reports in Israel.

The Be'er Sheva District Court has charged May Sampo, 32, of Netanya, who worked as a cook at the "Magic Sunrise" hotel in Eilat, with murder, for killing Roman Pliner. According to the indictment, the murder occurred three weeks ago after a physical confrontation between the killer and the victim over a bag, which contained bottles of alcohol.

According to the indictment, the murder was a tragic end to an alcohol infused night. After midnight, the defendant arrived alone at a kiosk opposite the Central Bus Station in Eilat, in order to meet a friend. Later, the defendant joined the victim, who sat in the store along with other friends. At some point, the victim’s friends left, leaving Pliner alone with Sampo.

Sampo was in possession of a long kitchen knife he took from the hotel. The two entered a local supermarket where the victim bought several bottles of alcohol.

When they arrived outside their home, the two began to argue over the bag of alcohol.
At that point, the two began to punch each other. That is when Sampo took out his knife and stabbed Pliner.
Passerby saw Sampo holding the knife over Pliner.

Pliner was stabbed multiple times in the chest and was declared dead at the scene.
