Portable cell phone station allows phones to be charged with text
By: Ryan Lee Hall

(Scroll down for video) A company has created a product that allows a cell phone to be charged with a text message.

Buffalo Grid, in England, came up with a portable solar charging station that is activated by sending a text message.
Some poor countries who don’t have dependable electricity have already implemented this technology.

Buffalo Grid has developed a portable micro generator which will provide on-demand cell phone power.

The solar power charging station will be activated when it receives a text message. Each text message allows a phone to charge for 1.5 hours. A full charge can last up to three days.
In Uganda, this technology has proven to be very successful.

In Uganda, the power supply is very unreliable. Sometimes, people have to travel far to recharge their phone.

People who live in remote villages rely on their phones to sell their crops. Now, they can charge their phone easily via text message.
