A woman is still going strong at her haircutting salon despite going blind.
When Kendall Dianah, 56, of South Wales, began losing her eyesight, she thought her job as a hairdresser was over.
However, despite being legally blind the hairdresser still manages to cut hair as her loyal customers pledged to stand by her side.
Kendall lost her vision after suffering a brain injury last year, and was classified as too blind to drive.
The mother of two was at work when she began to suffer from a bad headache, and was rushed to a hospital. Doctors found bleeding in her brain. She suffered an intracerebral hematoma, which means a pool of blood collected in her brain.
However, after 40 years of cutting hair, the brave hairdresser was determined to continue serving her loyal customers.
"I cannot judge distances very well at all, sometimes I fall, but if a head of hair is in front of me I can see enough to give my usual great standard of cut,” she said.
"My husband teases me about going to a blind hairdresser, but she is the best,” customer Sara Allan, 34, said.
"I have never left with a cut I did not like. She knows what I like, she knows it so well that she could do with her eyes closed," Allan added.
A Facebook photo landed two people in jail for animal cruelty.
A woman and her son are in trouble after publishing a photo of a small white dog inside a Ziploc bag on Facebook.
Mary Snell, 44, and her son, James Britton Engel, 21, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, were arrested on Sunday, after a concerned citizen reported the image to police.
When asked why the dog was placed in a Ziploc bag, Snell admitted to placing the dog in the bag “to show a friend how small it was,” Sergeant Aaron Williamson of the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department said.
The puppy is only 8-weeks-old and could have suffocated in the plastic bag.
Police said Engel admitted to taking the picture and posting it to his Facebook page.
Both Snell and Engel were placed under arrest for felony animal cruelty.
The dog that was named "Baby," is safe and in good condition. It was removed from the family’s care.

Firefighters and police responded to the scene where the distressed father was hanging onto the pole in Hong Kong.
The man, who was identified as 38-year-old Khem of Nepal, climbed the 8 foot tall pole after his wife left him and took his beloved daughter with her.
The woman left after the couple got into an argument.
Khem lived with his wife and daughter in Kowloon, Hong Kong. He is not a citizen of the country, and was afraid that after his wife left him he will be deported from the country. He also feared never seeing his wife or daughter again.
Police were forced to close a 5-lane highway to rescue the distraught man.
It took about 45 minutes for two firefighters and a police officer to persuade the man to come down from the pole.
When he was finally rescued, the man was placed on a stretcher. He began to cry and begged to see his daughter.

The crowd loved it, but it seems like her unborn child did not.
Mia found music very relaxing. She believed it would have the same effect on her unborn child, but she was mistaken.
Mia gave birth to her baby a month before her due date.
Mai asked her husband to come with her to a karaoke bar in Wuhan, Hubei Province, because it helped her relax, and she thought that her unborn baby would relax as well.
Once she was at the bar, the pregnant woman decided to sing on stage.
Other customers at the bar encouraged the pregnant woman to sing by cheering her on.
The excitement of the evening, which included being on stage, and all the applause of customers, may have caused the baby to come early.
The woman’s water broke and she went into labor while she was performing on stage.
Mia was carried out of the bar to a waiting ambulance.
She did not make it in time to the hospital and the baby was born in the ambulance.
"I warned her not to go to the bar, but she insisted. I am glad that I went with her. I was able to get her into the ambulance quickly and everything went well," her husband Feng said.
An elderly woman got the scare of a lifetime when two cows suddenly came plummeting through her roof.
An artist in Cornwall, said that she had some unexpected guests drop by in her workshop.
Sue Marshall, 77, heard a large crashing sound while vacuuming her barn in Lamorna, near Penzance.
The surprised professional weaver went to investigate and found a cow standing in the middle of the room, surrounded by a flat table and chairs.
Minutes later, another cow joined the party by plummeting through her roof. Apparently, the cows had climbed on her roof from a raised field of a neighboring farmer.
"I thought that a tree had fallen,” Marshall said.
"I was astonished to find that a cow had fallen through the roof of the workshop, leaving a huge hole in the ceiling. As soon as I let the frightened animal out another cow fell through the roof. The cows were not injured. I was in absolute shock," Marshall said.
The two cows caused thousands of dollars in damages, but Marshall was compensated by her Farmers Insurance.

Nine-year-old Demitri Santiago was recently suspended from Porterdale Elementary School in Newton County, Georgia.
His mother, Chelsi Lewis, said she received a phone call saying that her son had been seen sniffing candy powder.
"I said: ‘What? Where could he have gotten this idea from?'" Lewis recalled the phone call last Thursday.
"He told me that he had seen a student in his class, who did the same. He had seen her crush up candy and inhale it," Lewis said.
Lewis said that her son came home with a note saying that he had been suspended for two days. The reason given was possession of prohibited items.
According to the not, Demitri was caught "smelling a powdery substance."
Lewis believes it was an innocent act of a curious child and Demitri said he will not to do it again. Lewis wanted to warn other parents about the dangerous trend.

Salem Police said that a local 14-year-old boy sexually assault his very popular algebra teacher from high school before killing and robbing her, according to an indictment returned on Thursday.
Philip Chism has been held without bail for killing 24-year-old Colleen Ritzer. Her body was found behind Danvers High School after she never returned to school.
The indictment said that Chism, armed with a knife, stole her underwear, credit cards and iPhone.
Chism was spotted leaving a movie theater around 6:30 p.m. the day Ritzer was killed.
Chism remained in Ritzer’s classroom after dismissal on the day she was murdered.

The baby had been admitted to a hospital after he was suffering from pneumonia and breathing problems.
A doctor at a children's hospital in Anhui Province, China, had issued a death certificate for the newborn baby after he believed that the child was no longer alive.
The baby was taken to the Hefei Municipal Funeral Home, where he was scheduled to be cremated.
Two days after the child was declared dead and was taken to the funeral home, he suddenly began to cry. Shocked workers called an ambulance and the baby was rushed to the hospital.
The baby is being treated in the intensive care unit of the hospital.
The doctors were questioned about the incident, but were unable to explain how this happened.
"The baby was not breathing, he had no pulse and the body was cold," according to the doctor who signed the death certificate.
It looked like the baby was dead, but his life was not over.
Authorities have revoked the medical license of the doctor, who falsely declared the newborn boy dead.
A young woman attributes her healthy lifestyle to McDonald’s.
Jo Thompson, 21, of Solihull, West Midlands, United Kingdom, was just 11-years-old when she began suffering from extreme anxiety and panic attacks.
Within six months, she had been hospitalized and had lost a lot of weight.
For the next six years, Thompson was struggling with anorexia. She survived by eating peas and drinking water.
Thompson was fed up of being in and out of the hospital, and decided to apply for a job at the McDonald’s.
Determined to overcome her demons, Thompson forced herself to be around food.
It was at her job that she met and fell in love with her manager Zoheb Khan, 25.
Thompson said that Zoheb would sit with her and saw to it that she ate.
“He told me, ‘I will not eat my food until you have eaten yours,’” Thompson said.
“He helped me battle my eating disorder and I started to feel happy again," Thompson said about Zoheb.
Doctors warned that Thompson might not be able to have children because of her disease.
Zoheb and Thompson married and have two children, Zaki 2-year-old, and one-year-old Amelia.
“I have my two beautiful children to take care of so I will never let myself become sick with anorexia again,” Thompson, who is healthy and is eating well, said.
Boeing executives were left red-faced after an advertisement meant to promote Boeing featured an Airbus plane.
There was one wrong thing in the full-page advertisement that was recently placed to support Boeing. The advertisement urged state lawmakers to approve a transportation package designed to help Boeing build its new 777X in Washington.
The title of the advertisement that was published on Wednesday, read: "The future of Washington." However, the photo was a passenger plane of the Airbus company, and not Boeing.
The advertisement was placed by the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce of Seattle, which is part of the Aerospace Association of business, labor and economic development groups.
A spokesperson for the for the Chamber of Commerce, Terri Hiroshima, said that "It is a shameful mistake."

Xu Xiaoli , 22, of northeastern China, was brutally murdered by her sister’s former husband.
Police have arrested Chuanjun Sun, after the incident, which took place in Anmin Town, Dandong City.
Xiaoli, died of multiple stab wounds, and her abdomen was also cut open.
Xiaoli and San had been arguing prior to her death. A neighbor heard someone yelling for help, and ran to the house.
"When I reached the door, the suspect was on top of Xiaoli. There was blood all over the floor," a neighbor said. "Sun threatened to kill me if I come closer the him,” the neighbor also said.
At that point, Sun grabbed the baby girl, placed the baby between his legs, ran from the house, and took off on a motorcycle," the neighbor added.
Sun took the baby to his father's house. He cooked the baby in boiling water.
When Sun's father returned home, he heard the child crying in the kitchen, so he rescued the baby from the pot.
The baby had third and fourth degree burns on her body. Sun’s father was also burned while grabbing the baby from the hot water.
Dr. Xin from the Guoli Burns Hospital in Shenyang City, said that the baby is in a stable but critical state, and is being treated around the clock with blood and plasma transfusions.
The case is currently under investigation. Sun's motives for the murder is still unknown.
Gong Chundi, the former wife of the suspect, said that she does not know why Sun did this.
“Mentally, he appeared normal. He liked to gamble, but didn’t drink much,” Gong said.
The couple divorced 4 month earlier, and had little contact since then.
Gong and her 11-year-old son were living at the victim’s home, but all seemed fine between them, according to Gong.

Roman Atwood set out to prank his girlfriend Britney, by saying that he had cheated on her.
He set up a camera and secretly recorded her reaction.
The couple was on vacation in Aruba, for their 5th anniversary. Atwood hid the camera in their hotel room.
He confronted his girlfriend, and confessed about his cheating ways.
"I have to tell you something. It will be the worst thing you have ever heard," Atwood told his girlfriend.
He told Britney that he cheated on her with another woman about three weeks earlier.
Britney broke down crying and said: “how could you do this. We have a family.”
After a few moments, Britney confessed to her boyfriend that she too had been cheating on him.
That is when Atwood went crazy. He hit a lamp and threw things around in the hotel room. “Say what, what did you say?” He asked.
“What did you just say? You did not cheat on me? Be for real, my heart's killing me. Did you cheat on me?" He said in a state of shock.
When she revealed that she had also cheated, Atwood demanded to know who she slept with.
At that point, the girlfriend started laughing and told Atwood that she was joking. She also told him that she saw him hiding the camera, so she decided to turn the joke on him.
She gave her boyfriend a taste of his own medicine.
"I thought he was going to propose to me!" She said.

Leon Sheppard Sr. of Memphis, Tennessee, left behind a family of five children, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren along with the two cats that he considered family.
Sheppard left his 4,270 square foot home and $250,000 to his cats named Frisco and Jake.
His will states that the money should be used for the care and maintenance of the two cats.
In the will Sheppard wrote: "If their owner sees fit, they can create a trust for the welfare and benefit of the cats," according to his attorney Randy Fishman.
Fishman, who has practiced law for nearly 35 years, admits that this is very unusual, but it is legal. “It is your money, you can do whatever you want with it,” Fishman said.
Neighbors said the Sheppard, who died at the age of 79, loved his cat.
According to the will, the cats must be cared for with the money, but when Frisco dies the rest of the estate can be passed on to the cats’ human heirs.
This is not the first time that a person left their fortune to their pet. New York hotel heiress Leona Helmsley left $12 million for the care of her dog.

A fisherman caught a rare fish in Davis Strait, between Canada's Baffin Island and western Greenland.
Now, researchers from the University of Windsor, have identified the strange fish.
Nigel Hussey, a researcher who works with the Ocean Tracking Network, said that the fish, which was believed to be a goblin shark is actually a "long-nosed chimaera."
The rare species belongs to the Rhinochimaeridae family of fish, named after the Greek terms for nose and monster.
There was only one other such long-nosed fish documented in history, according to Hussey.
Hussey said that there may possibly be many more of these fish deep down in the sea.
"If we fished deeper, perhaps between 1,000 and 2,000 meters, we might find that there is actually quite a lot of them there. We simply do not know,” he said.
Hussey said that the long-nosed creature is related to sharks. It has a whip-like tail and a long nose. They usually grow to about a meter long.

The manager of a mikva in the Israeli city of Modi’in Illit, has released a video showing a Haredi thief breaking a mikva money box and stealing the cash.
The man gained access to the Yaroslav synagogue and headed to the mikva area. The man is seen taking a screwdriver and forcing open the cash box next to the turnstile door.
The thief is then seen handling the broken box with a towel in order not to leave fingerprints at the crime scene. After he stole the cash from the box he fled from the scene.
The manager of the synagogue said that the house of worship suffered 5,000 shekel in damages.
Two yeshiva students were hospitalized after suffering serious injuries from falling bricks while standing outside the Belz yeshiva building in the Israeli city of Ashdod, according rescue workers.
Magen David Adom Ashdod said that two students, 17 and 18-years-old, were injured outside Yeshiva Dover Shalom after bricks fell on their heads.
Ichud Hatzalah rescue members, who were at a shopping center nearby, arrived at the scene and provided medical care to the two teens.
The two teens were transported by Magen David Adom ambulances to Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot.
Part of the yeshiva building is still under construction, and a sign at the scene warns passersby not enter the construction site, but the students entered anyway.
Ashdod Police said that it is unclear why the students went into the construction site.
A spokesperson for Magen David Adom said that rescue workers found the two injured students on the second floor of the building.
A Kaplan Hospital spokesperson said that the two students are still hospitalized and are in stable condition.
A father of ten children is dead after falling from a tall ladder at a construction site in the Israeli city of Beit Shemesh, according to hospital officials in Israel.
Alter Kaufman, 40, died on Wednesday, after being hospitalized on Tuesday night, following a head injury.
Kaufman, whose oldest child will get married in four weeks, fell from a 15-foot ladder and suffered serious head injuries.
An Ichud Hatzalah spokesperson said that when rescue workers arrived at the scene they found Kaufman on the floor, suffering from severe head injuries.
The workers treated him at the scene and transported him to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem, in critical condition.
A Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital spokesperson said that Kaufman suffered bleeding in the brain. After a few hours, he was declared dead.
