A new poll released this week showed that 40 percent of Muslim Palestinians as well as Muslims in Afghanistan, support terror attacks against civilians.
No fewer than four out of ten Muslims in Afghanistan and Palestine support the use of suicide bombings, an extensive new international survey showed.
The high support for the desperate tactic in war-torn regions was almost equaled in Egypt and Bangladesh, where 29 percent and 26 percent of respondents agreed with their use, respectively.
However, world Muslims surveyed by an organization in Washington found that in most countries three-quarters or more rejected suicide bombings and other forms of violence.
In most countries, the majority of respondents, were more concerned about Islamist militancy than any other form of religious violence.
The report, based on surveys conducted in 39 countries with large Muslim populations, also found that the vast majority want the Islamic Sharia code integrated with the official law of their countries.
Three quarters of Muslim respondents said that abortion is immoral and 80 percent or more rejected homosexuality and sex outside of marriage.
“These findings just show why Israel is having such a difficult time reaching a peace agreement with the Palestinians. It is difficult to make peace with a group of people who support terror attacks against the civilian population,” Ruth Rogers, 43, of Tallahassee, Florida told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the new poll.
More than three-quarters of Muslims in the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia and Southeast Asia want sharia courts to decide family law issues such as divorce and property disputes.
