A man was seen falling to his death inside a Netanya hotel in central Israel, according to police reports in Netanya, Israel.

The body of the man was found on the roof above the lobby of a hotel in Netanya. Hotel staff immediately alerted the Magen David Adom emergency service who responded to the scene. Paramedics declared the man dead at the scene. The police launched an investigation into the falling death of the man.

The incident began at about 2:30 am when workers in the lobby of the Netanya hotel heard a thud on the roof above them. When they went upstairs, they found a man lying unconscious on the roof. They called the MDA, who arrived on the scene, and determined his death.

A police sergeant told an Israeli television news station that fire department workers helped Magen David Adom workers at the scene.

The circumstances leading to the death remain unclear, and Netanya police are saying that they suspect the man was pushed to his death.

This latest hotel death comes just weeks after a woman was killed inside a Netanya hotel. As we reported earlier, a man was arrested and charged with murder related charges after choking to death a woman and throwing her dead body out from a hotel window in Netanya, Israel, according to court proceedings in Tel Aviv, Israel.

The Lod District Court today filed charges against Aritzia Akol Sungo, a 30-year-old Congo national, accused of murdering Zahava Chekol at the Carmel hotel in Netanya last month.

According to the indictment, Sungo came to Israel from Congo, and was left homeless, so he asked his friend to allow him to stay at his apartment at the hotel. During his stay at the hotel, Sungo got to know Chekol.

One evening last month, Sungo came to the hotel where Chekol was already waiting for him. Chekol was angry at Sungo and demanded that he repay a 200 shekel loan.

Sungo tried to evade the payment and told Chekol that he has only $100. Chekol then threatened Sungo that if he did not pay right away, she will open the window and shout that he raped her. Sungo then decided to kill Chekol, according to the court documents.

Sungo strangled Chekol to death, opened the window and threw out the body. Chekol then went to bed and went to work at 5:00 the next morning, as usual.
A few hours later, Chekol's body was found by a passerby. Sungo was arrested by police shortly thereafter.

“Chekol shouldn’t have threatened Sungo, but falsely accusing a man of rape does not justify a murder. The man should receive a harsh punishment for his action from the court,” Mayer Donovon, 38, of Netanya, Israel told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the charges.
