(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested and charged with murder related charges after stabbing his brother inside a grocery store in Bat Yam, Israel, according to police reports in Bat Yam, Israel.
A 53-year-old man was stabbed to death by his brother, 50, during an argument which broke out inside the neighborhood grocery store located on Nizzana street. The suspect fled the scene after the attack, but was later captured by police.
At around 7:30 am, Magen David Adom was called to the store after passerby witnessed the stabbing. Paramedics found the 53-year-old man lying on the floor bleeding, with stab wounds on the upper body.
After performing CPR and other emergency procedures, the paramedics declared the victim dead. Police later caught the suspect while he was hiding at an apartment in Bat Yam. Police said that the brothers were arguing over a recent purchase of a vehicle. So far, police could not find the knife used in the attack.
Family members told an Israeli television news station that the victim came earlier in the day to the house of the murderer, and destroyed the house. They also said that the victims grabbed a knife and attempted to kill the suspect. After the failed attack, the victim fled the home, and went to the local grocery where the suspect came with a knife, and killed him. Family members claim that the killer acted in self defense.
“This is a terrible incident. It seems unreal that two middle aged brothers would kill each other over a car, yet that is exactly what had happened. This is very sad,” Shanda Hamby, 47, of Bat Yam, Israel told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the murder.
