(Scroll down for video) An 84-Year-old woman is accused of hiring a hitman to kill the local district attorney who jailed her for theft.
In an act of revenge, the 84-year-old woman who is serving jail time on a theft charge, allegedly tried to hire a hitman to kill the county prosecutor and hospitalize another, in Texas.
Dorothy Canfield allegedly asked the hit man to make the murder look similar to the killing of the Kaufman County prosecutor and his wife who were killed last month for that story click here.
Canfield, was charged with solicitation of capital murder and attempt to commit aggravated assault for plotting to kill Montgomery County assistant district attorney Robert Freyer and hurt district attorney Brett Ligon.
According to the recorded conversation with Canfield, she asked the hit man to kill Freyer. She also asked him to hurt Ligon so he will be "in the hospital for two to three weeks." She allegedly agreed to pay $5,000 to kill Freyer, and $2,500 to injure Ligon.
Canfield is being held in Montgomery County Jail on property theft charges that involves allegations that she posed as an immigration attorney to defraud clients. Bond for the theft case was set at $500,000.
“She is a feisty woman, she was looking to make money by posing as an immigration attorney. At her age, most people like to take life easy. My parents, who are in their 80’s love to visit me and my sister and enjoy their grandchildren,” Lillian Price, 41, from Montgomery County, Texas, told YourJewishNews.com.
The prosecutors were tipped off to Canfield's alleged plot by a confidential informant. Authorities then monitored Canfield's communications from jail. No bond was set with respect to the two newest charges.
