Rabbi Abraham Glick |
The senior Chabad rabbi of Melbourne, Australia, was arrested for questioning after being accused of child rape, according to police reports.
Now, the religious leader at Yeshiva College of Melbourne, has resigned after accusations that he raped a student on several occasions during the 1980s inside the synagogue and school.
Rabbi Abraham Glick, 67, the former principal of the prestigious Jewish school, was arrested last week and questioned by police in Melbourne.
The arrest comes after a statement was made to the police in July, in which Rabbi Glick was accused of raping a former student on numerous occasions.
"He was always a predator. I remember looking into his eyes and it was like someone looking at the table on a plate of meat. There was no caring, there was something missing," the alleged victim said in the statement.
It is also alleged that officials knew of the abuse, but they warned him not to say anything about it.
