An ultra-Orthodox Jewish yeshiva student was stabbed on Friday night, after a fight broke out among several teens, according to police reports in Israel.
Tel Aviv Region Police said that the serious assault occurred on the busy Rabbi Akiva Street in Bnei Brak, after Haredi teens allegedly hurled insults at several yeshiva students.
At one point during the fight, one of the teens pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the lower abdomen. The victim managed to escape to Habakuk Street where he collapsed.
Ichud Hatzalah paramedics, who were called to the scene, gave him primary health care, and he was transported by a Magen David Adom ambulance to a local hospital. The victim is currently listed as in moderate condition.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, and so far, no arrests have been made.
