A mother is still in shock after her son was thrown of a balcony by a young girl.
Surveillance video in an apartment building in Chongqing, China, showed the moment a mother walked out of an elevator with her child’s bike.
However, as she turned to collect her one and half-year-old son, the elevator closed, leaving the baby in the elevator with a 10-year-old girl.
The girl is seen picking up the baby, and suddenly throwing him to the ground, kicking and beating him before she left the elevator with the child. She then threw him off a balcony.
In the video below, the child’s devastated mother is seen crying hysterically as she explained how she mistakenly left her child behind in the elevator.
The baby was taken to a local hospital. He is said to be suffering from multiple fractures and a ruptured lung.
The girl’s father, who was identified as Li, said that his daughter loves children and animals, but she has "communication problems."
He added that he and his wife often scold their daughter, which may have had a negative impact on her psychological well being.
Li has reportedly taken responsibility for his daughter’s actions. He and his family are cooperating with police and will compensate the baby’s family.
