"Octomom" Nadya Suleman held a yard sale to raise money to pay her mortgage.
The yard sale was held at her of Madonna Lane home in La Habra, California, on Saturday morning. The auction was streamed online.
The goal of the yard sale was to raise money to pay her mortgage debt of $450,000 to avoid foreclosure.
A large crowd of people attended the yard sale, and police had to close the street to traffic, but apparently, that was not enough.
Interestingly, "Octomom" only managed raise $2,600 at the sale, rather than the $10,000 she had hoped to collect.
The mother of 14, had hoped to sell items like the bikini she wore on the cover of a tabloid magazine, an autographed nursing bra, a signed sonogram, a diaper bag signed "Octomom” and baby blankets, amongst other items.
Suleman managed to sell a sofa that she used when she was expecting her octuplets. Someone paid $150 for it.
Others paid to have their photos taken with the famous "Octomom" and her children.
Suleman said that money is tight, so she is also trying to clean out her toy-filled house.
Suleman said that she will do everything possible to avoid going on welfare.
Earlier, Suleman wrote a book, but publishers have not expressed interest in promoting it.
The reality show about raising her 14 children apparently also failed.
She has received several offers from porn movie companies. Her latest offer was reportedly for $500,000 but Suleman turned it down.
Suleman gave birth to octuplets, six boys and two girls, who are now 4-years-old.
She also has six older children all the result of IVF treatment, with no father in sight.
