(Scroll down for video) Israeli commandos swung into action and saved a little girl after she was held hostage by her deranged uncle, according to video uploaded to the Internet.
Israel Police and counter-terrorism agents participated in the raid of an apartment building in Ashkelon, on Wednesday, rescuing a four-year-old girl, who was held hostage by her uncle.
The man barricaded himself in the house along with his little niece.
At 3:00 p.m., the police received a call that a local man had taken his niece hostage and barricaded himself inside the home of the little girl’s house.
After about two hours of fruitless negotiations, agents sent in the anti-terrorism unit YAMAM, who freed the girl and took the man into custody.
Police said the man was mentally disturbed and that he did not threaten the girl. Police believe that the little girl’s life was not in danger.
The man was arrested and will be charged with kidnapping, and he will be brought before a Magistrate's Court for a bail hearing.
