A prisoner couldn’t take the pain anymore so he busted out of jail and headed straight for the dentist, according to court proceedings in Sweden.
Most prisoners escape because of the harsh conditions they face inside, but this man just wanted to fix his tooth.
The prisoner decided enough was enough after his inflamed tooth began to cause him a serious amount of pain and his face became swollen, so he staged an escape to visit a dentist.
The 51-year-old, who had just one month left to complete his sentence, decided to leave the Ostergard minimum security prison in Vanersborg, and headed for his nearest medical professional.
“My whole face was swollen. I could not take it anymore," the man said when asked why he escaped from prison.
Once the prisoner had the affected tooth fixed, he voluntarily returned to prison.
The man was charged and was sentenced to an additional day in prison.
In retrospect, it was probably worth it.
