(Scroll down for video) The Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati, Ohio, is being sued by the family of a woman, who worked as a nurse for the hospital.

Beth Jasper, 38, of Stonelick, died in a car accident when she fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a tree.

Her family blames the Jewish Hospital, claiming that short-staffing caused the woman to work extra hours and to be stressed out, which contributed to the accident that took the life of the woman.

Jasper was a nurse in the bone marrow transplant unit at the Jewish Hospital.

Her husband, James Jasper, said that his wife was constantly called to the hospital because she was one of the few nurses who knew how to operate the equipment.

Mr. Jasper said that the hospital did not employ enough staff, leaving their employees unable to take a break or go home on time.

Beth Jasper left behind her husband of nearly 14 years, a 6-year-old son and an 11-year-old daughter.

They filed a wrongful death lawsuit in a Hamilton County court, seeking unspecified damages. They also want the hospital to change the way they treat their nurses.

“Our hearts go out to the family. We cannot comment on pending litigation,” a hospital spokesperson said in a statement.
