At least three Jewish children have been abused at Jewish home facilities for kids, according to police reports in Australia.
The three people have claimed that they were abused in children's homes run by Victorian Jewish welfare organizations in the 1960s.
Jewish Care Victoria has launched its own investigation into the allegations, after the people claimed they were abused while in residential care.
President Mike Debinski said the main concern of the organizations is the welfare of anyone who had been abused.
"We will review all claims and we are offering services such as counseling, case management and support," Debinski said in a statement.
This support does not eliminate the right to pursue any further legal action.
"We will not sweep this problem under the rug. We are working with the media and community organizations to reach out to anyone who believes they have been sexually or physically abused in residential care between 1939 and 1992,” Debinski said.
