A man was arrested and police intend to charge him with child sexual abuse related charges after he allegedly sexually abused several children, according to police reports.

Israel Border Police said that they arrested a kashrut supervisor, 45, at Ben Gurion International Airport this week as he was about to board a flight to the U.S.

The man, whose name was not released, sexually abused several children in Israel up until 2001. He was arrested in 2001 after a victim complained to the police. He was released under house arrest, but fled to Brooklyn, New York.

A month after he fled Israel, his wife and children joined him in Brooklyn.
Despite being a fugitive, he returned to Israel several times over the years and was not arrested.
However, the victim filed a new criminal complaint against the kashrut supervisor when he learned that the man is in Israel.

Police have received three complaints from Lubavitch men, who claimed that the kashrut supervisor sexually abused them during their childhood.

Police believe there are still other victims out there, who are afraid to file complaints.
“The suspect went to one of the victims’ mother and said he wanted to bring her son back to Judaism. Instead, he took him once a week to the mikvah, where he sexually abused him," a person familiar with the abuse said.
