A man was arrested and charged with assault related charges after beating a man because he talked during Shabbat prayer services, according to police reports in Israel.

Givatayim Police said that a man was beaten at his synagogue last Saturday after talking during prayer services. The man was taken by Magen David Adom to a local hospital for treatment. The attacker was arrested by police.

According to the police, one worshiper spoke during prayers in the Givatayim synagogue last Saturday. The man was asked by one of the other worshipers to leave.

Upon leaving the synagogue, the man began beating him. The suspect was identified as a resident of Ramat Gan, 44.
The suspect was arrested yesterday by the Ramat Gan Police and was extradited to Givatayim to face charges. Today, the suspect was brought before the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court for a remand hearing.

This was not the only man beaten recently for religious reasons. As we reported earlier, police are looking to arrest and charge a group of men with assault related charges after they beat an ultra-Orthodox Jewish man because he looked at a passing pregnant woman, according to police reports in Israel.

Netanya Police said that a local resident, 55, was assaulted by the group in the neighborhood Kiryat Sanz, sustaining moderate to severe injuries. Police believe the man was attacked after he looked at a pregnant woman. The suspects have not been arrested.
Police are investigating whether the suspects are members of the local modesty squad.

The man, who was attacked on Saturday night, had come to the bus stop in the ultra-Orthodox Jewish Hasidic neighborhood and planned to travel to the Israeli city of Bnei Brak. While waiting for the bus, a pregnant woman passed by.

According to eyewitness testimony gathered by the police, the group realized that the man was looking at the pregnant woman and started beating him all over his body. The attackers shoved the man into a car where they continued to beat him. After some time, the group dumped him on one of the neighborhood streets.

A local resident, who witnessed the assault, notified the police. The victim was evacuated to Sanz Medical Center. Police searched the area, but so far have not arrested any suspects.

Hospital staff said the man was beaten all over his body. Because of his severe condition, investigators have been unable to talk to him about the attack.
