(Scroll down for video) A baby is lucky to be alive after a little girl caught her after she was thrown from a burning house, according to emergency workers in Georgia.
Zna Gresham, 10, does not see herself as a hero, but in the eyes of others she is definitely a hero after saving the baby thrown from the burning apartment.
Gresham caught the baby, who was thrown from the second floor of her apartment complex in Decatur, after the building caught fire.
The family, who lives on the second floor of the building, was trapped by the fire, which had started on the first floor. Christopher Morrison, the Fire Chief of Dekalb County Fire, said the mother had no choice but to throw her three children out the window to their safety.
Morrison said: "The smoke quickly travelled to the upper floors. They could not make their way out of their apartment with all the smoke. They just went to a window and the mother threw the children out to people, neighbors, on the ground below."
As Gresham and her sister were standing outside the building, Gresham happened to see the 1 month old baby falling from the second floor window. She managed to catch the baby before he hit the ground, however, the other two children were not so fortunate as the baby. They suffered minor injuries, but they are doing well. However, the whole family was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Although Gresham was the one who saved the baby, she is giving credit to her family for saving the family, while the apartment building was burning.
