(Scroll down for video) Police released a video that shows Jews and Arabs fighting in Jerusalem’s Old City, according to video uploaded to the internet.
Jerusalem prosecutors filed charges against two Jewish teens, who allegedly beat an Arab teen and cursed him. The Jewish teens denied the charges. "We were beaten by several Arabs," the Jewish teens claimed. However, prosecutors decided that a judge should decide, who was responsible for initiating the fight.
The fight happened last month between Jewish and Arab youths in the Old City of Jerusalem. Police decided to charge the Jewish teens after video showed the Jewish teens kicking the Arab teen.
"I just was trying to defend a friend, who was on the floor and was being held down by the Arab teen. He was like five times the size of my friend," one of the jewish teens charged with assault said. "My friend was on the floor and was being beaten by two Arabs. One teen was hitting him from the left and the other from the right," the Jewish defendant also said. The event took place in the Jewish quarter of the Old City.
So far, police only arrested two people involved in the incident. According to the prosecution, the Arab teen innocently walked down the street when he was suddenly cursed without any provocation. The defendants argue the opposite.
"He started to taunt us, curse and shout 'Kill the Jews,’" a Jewish man, who was at the scene said. Prosecutors said that the defendant refused to answer questions during questioning, and that the security cameras support the charges. However, the court released the defendants on their own recognizance.
