(Scroll down for video) An Indiana man was arrested and charged with murder related charges after he killed his friend and placed the body inside an unplugged freezer, according to police reports in Indiana.

Indiana Police said that prosecutors have filed additional charges against the central Indiana man accused of hiding the decomposing body of his friend in the unplugged freezer.

Howard County Deputy Prosecutor Jeremy Peelle filed additional charges of murder while attempting deviate conduct, reckless homicide and confinement, last week against 52-year-old Walter Logan.

Logan is being held without bond in the county jail in Kokomo, about 50 miles north of Indianapolis.
Logan's trial was scheduled to begin Wednesday, but the new charges prompted Logan’s defense counsel to request a postponement. A judge granted the request of the defense attorney and set the trial for later in the year.

Police arrested Logan late last year after finding the body of 29-year-old Alex Shipp inside Logan’s freezer.
Court records say that Logan told investigators that he and Shipp knew each other for about two years and had a sexual relationship. He said that one night, about four weeks before the body was found, the two got drunk, took drugs and had sex.

Then, Logan said Shipp became aggressive and wanted to fight, the documents say. Logan tied the hands and feet of Shipp and placed tape over his mouth and nose. Then, Logan fell asleep.

He told police that when he woke up, he thought Shipp was dead, but removed the tape and went back to sleep. When he awoke again, he said, he was sure Shipp was dead, but waited about six hours before moving the body to the basement.

Logan told police he took out a shelf of the upright freezer and put it on its back. Then, he put the body inside the freezer which was not plugged in, the affidavit states.
Logan told police that he tried to commit suicide by swallowing pills and wrote a suicide note, but fell asleep.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
