(Scroll down for video) A little girl killed herself after her mother left her home alone so she can go shopping by herself, according to police reports in Louisiana.
Police said today that the 5-year-old girl fatally shot herself when her mother locked her inside her house and went to the store.
The Police Department of New Orleans, said in a press release that the girl was home alone Sunday, somehow found her mother's gun and accidentally shot himself in the head. The mother of the child, 28-year-old Laderika Smith, was charged with second-degree murder. Police said that her negligence caused the death of her daughter.
Upon returning home from the store, police said Smith found her daughter lying on the bedroom floor with a gunshot wound. She died later in a hospital.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
