A little boy got stuck inside a laundry basket after a game of hide and seek went wrong, according to fire officials in the United Kingdom.
The five-year-old boy from Brighton had to be cut free by firefighters after being trapped inside the laundry basket for several long minutes.
The young child squeezed himself into a wicker laundry basket inside his Withdean area home while playing the popular children’s game with his mother.
Firefighters arrived to find the mother desperately pulling the child’s arms in order to free her son. The mother has also tried to use liquid detergent as a lubricant, but apparently, that didn't help either.
Fire service watch manager Richard Chamberlain described the event as an unusual call, and said the boy was unharmed despite the fact that firefighters had to cut him out of the laundry basket with a saw.
"He was playing nicely, but then his leg went below his bottom and he became completely stuck,” the fire manager said.
"His mother had tried to get him out with liquid soap, but it had not worked. The boy had been there for about 20 minutes by the time we got there,” he said.
"We were able to cut him out with a hand saw and everything went well," he added.
