A northern Israeli man was arrested and charged with child abuse related charges after his daughter was found hanging in a bathroom in the family home.
Police found the girl hanging by iron chains inside the shower in the bathroom, according to a statement released by Israeli police.
Police said they found the 17-year-old girl on thursday afternoon, tied up and hanging by chains from the ceiling of the shower inside her parents’ home. Rami Neumark, the commander of the northern Israeli police, said he found the girl bleeding from her head.
Police discovered the child abuse thanks to an anonymous tip they received. When police entered the home they found that the bathroom door was locked. The police also said that the girl was suffering from shock and could not communicate with them.
The girl's father, who was in the house when police arrived, was arrested. the father told police that this is the way he punishes his daughter when she is bad. Later in the day, police arrested the mother of the girl, 50-years-old.
Both parents were detained for questioning. The girl was taken to a hospital in Nazareth for treatment in fair condition.
