A Palestinian man died of a heart attack after hearing the news that his son was arrested, according to hospital officials in the West Bank.
The man from Nablus, suffered a heart attack when his son was arrested by Palestinian Authority security forces.
62-year-old Sa'di al-Sakhel died of a heart attack when Palestinian Authority police arrested his son Musab.
The Palestinian Authority arrested his son after they suspected he was a member of Hamas. He was released by the authorities when his father was declared dead after being taken to Al-Arabi hospital in Nablus.
The death of the man has sparked angry protests with police forces of the Palestinian Authority. Protesters tried to storm a police station.
The organizers of the demonstration said that the security forces have arrested 120 Palestinians in recent weeks because of suspected Hamas affiliation. Many of those targeted by the Palestinian Authority for such questioning were previously released from Israeli prisons.
Another son of al-Sakhel, was released from an Israeli prison in 2011 as part of a prisoner swap with Hamas for the captive Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.
