A man was arrested and charged with possession of fraudulent instruments related charges after being caught with a duffel bag stuffed with thousands of fake money orders, according to police reports in New York.

The Rockland County man was hit with 1,372 criminal fraud charges Wednesday after police found more than $1 million in fake money orders in a luxury SUV he was driving.

Shae Stevenson, 23, was arrested Monday after police in Clarkstown detained him for a minor vehicle violation.
Police said they found the stash of counterfeit money orders in a bag Stevenson quickly tried to remove from the Land Rover when he was told it was being confiscated because he was driving with a suspended license.

The bag contained 497 fraudulent U.S. postal service money orders and 875 fraudulent CVS Money Grams.
Stevenson was slapped with felony charges of possession of a forged instrument for each false money order that was in the bag.
He was released on just $5,000 bail after his arraignment Wednesday in Clarkstown Court.

He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
His defense attorney Kevin Fega defended Stevenson as "a good boy".
