The pony playing with a teddy bear |
(Scroll down for video) A pony was seen on video cuddling with an oversized teddy bear.
The baby pony sleeps soundly in the lap of its new surrogate “mother”, a jumbo teddy bear.
The pony, which was named Breeze, was found abandoned near the Dartmoor National Park just a few hours after its birth. Unable to find its mother, the pony was roaming around the hillside trying to suckle other female horses.
By the time rescuers from a equine sanctuary arrived, Breeze, had collapsed and was dehydration. After being nursed back to health over the following days, he was missing one vital thing, a mother to cuddle and snuggle up to.
Staff at the Mare and Foal Sanctuary in Devon, England, knew the answer to comfort the lonely newborn. They got Breeze a four-foot teddy, which they have named Buttons.
Sanctuary executive director Syra Bowden, said: “Sadly, little Breeze hasn’t got its mom around to keep it company. Although its caretakers here at the sanctuary work around the clock to look after it, it’s not quite the same. Just like human babies the teddy bear provides it with comfort.”Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
