(Scroll down for video) A woman decided to commit suicide after giving away her last dollar to her son so he can buy drugs, according to a statement released by police in Malaysia.
The mother, who was identified by police as 59-years-old, gave money to her unemployed son.
Police said that her son, who is 37-years-old, is addicted to drugs and had been regularly asking for money from his mother in order to fuel his drug addiction.
On Wednesday night, the man threatened to commit suicide if he does get $2,700.
The woman gave her son $1,400 and then stabbed herself.
Police said that the woman worked hard as a janitor, and that she has given away all her money to her son.
The son, after learning of the death of his mother, cried uncontrollably straight to the police station.
"Children need to learn from this not to press their parents for money. We can never know when nagging can drive a parent over the edge, and once we realize it could be too late," Jean Burns, 35, of Indianapolis, Indiana told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the mother who committed suicide after giving money to her drug addicted son.
