A girl refused to miss her prom, so after nobody asked her out to prom, she came up with a unique idea.
Instead of staying home, feeling bad for herself and losing the most memorable part of her high school years, the brave girl invited a calculator as her date! And posted photos as proof.
Regina Reynolds sewed a small tuxedo and completed it with a small bow out of paper for her calculator date, so it should look like everyone else.
“Prom is a very sensitive issue to many youngsters, as they hope to be asked out as someone’s date. Youngsters who are unable to find a date will rather stay home instead of dancing alone, or finding a guy who also came alone,” Heather Mills, 24, of Dover, Delaware told YourJewishNews.com after seeing photo’s of Reynolds with the calculator as her date.
"Nobody asked me out to dance, so I took my calculator," Reynolds wrote on a social media site. The calculator was the star of the show as she introduced it to her friends and teachers.
Even her principal enjoyed her good spirit. In the weekly email the Principal wrote: “A young girl showed up at the prom alone. When I asked where her date was, she smiled and reached into her purse and took out a calculator. She had decorated and dressed it with a tuxedo made out of paper. We had a good laugh.”
