| Honey Love |
A mother was arrested after she gathered a gang of boys to fight another teen who tried to rape her daughter.
The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania mother, who goes by the name Honey Love, allegedly armed her 11-year-old son with two steak knives in order to settle the score with a 16-year-old, who allegedly tried to sexually assault her 12-year-old daughter.
Love, 35, is accused of using a group of six teenagers, including three of her own children, to seek vigilante justice. The Upper Darby mother told police her son entered his daughter’s bedroom and saw the 16-year-old boy standing over her daughter with her pants pulled down.
The boy allegedly tried to kiss and hug the 12-year-old girl. When she refused his advances, she fell to the floor, Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said. When she was on the floor, the teen allegedly pulled down her pants and underwear.
When the 16-year-old boy saw the girl’s younger brother, he ran away. The girl told her mother what has happened. Instead of calling police, Love, gathered a group of teenagers and gave her son, 11, an 8-inch kitchen knife and a 4-inch knife, police said.
“This mother it totally irresponsible. She was putting many children in harm’s way. What is she doing recruiting other people’s kids to fight her dirty fight? Because of her irresponsible behavior, her young son is in a lot of trouble with the law,” Joan Wilson, 43, of Harlem, New York City, told YourJewishNews.com after hearing about the fight.
When they reached the house of the teenager, the gang entered the house ready to fight. The 16-year-old was home with his father and two brothers.
"Love, took one of the knives from her son and began to swing it around," Chitwood said. Police were called. No injuries were reported. Love, and her son were both arrested and are facing charges of assault.
The 16-year-old assailant was arrested and charged with attempted rape and sexual assault.
