A man will rot in prison for the rest of his life after he raped and killed his baby girl.
Steven Deuman, 26, was convicted of first-degree murder and aggravated sexual assault after he was charged with orally raping his 15-week-old daughter while in his care.
The newborn baby is believed to have died from choking on the condom that was found in her mouth.
Deuman was sentenced to two life sentences in prison.
Deuman’s infant daughter, Evelynne Deuman, was found dead with a condom in her mouth. The death occurred at the home of Deuman in northern Michigan.
Deuman had called the child's mother to let her know that he had left his daughter in bed while he went smoking outside, but when he returned the baby was on the floor and not breathing.
The prosecution argued that explanation made no sense, since the baby was too young to crawl or even roll off the bed at 15-weeks old. She was definitely not capable of putting the condom in her mouth by herself.
The autopsy showed no evidence that the girl fell. The autopsy also determined that the baby died of asphyxiation.
Deuman claims that he did not hurt his daughter and that her death was purely accidental.
The judge did not buy his story and he was sentenced to two life terms in prison.
