Fresh McDonald's burger versus 14-year-old McDonald's burger |
(Scroll down for video) A man was curious to know what happens with a McDonald’s burger after many years, so he decided to keep it untouched in his home and study it, but to his surprise, nothing happened, according to video uploaded to the internet.
The Utah man has kept the McDonald’s burger he bought at a local location, way back in 1999.
The burger, despite being 14-years-old, still looks like he just bought it.
David Whipple told a U.S. television talk show that he held the burger for a month in order to show people how enzymes worked.
Then, he put it back in its original packaging and forgot about it, as he threw it in the back of his truck.
The 63-year-old continued: "It sat there for a year or two. After it sat in my truck for years, I suddenly remembered that I had thrown the burger in the back of my truck, so I went to check on it and when I saw it I said to myself: 'Oh, my God, I cannot believe it has the same appearance!'"
The talk show host confirmed that the burger showed no signs of mold or mildew, it was just very hard. The host also mentioned that the burger was "completely preserved."
The only change observed in the burger was that the sauce had disintegrated.
“I have to say that I am quite surprised that the burger was so well preserved. I don’t know whether this information will make me want to eat at McDonald’s or not, because for one, this showed, that the burgers do not spoil, but on the other hand, who knows what they put inside, or of it is even real meat. What meat does not spoil after a week or so? This is definitely strange,” Jade Cronin, 23, of Salt Lake City, Utah told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the 14-year-old McDonald’s burger.
Whipple said that he is keeping the burger to show his grandchildren and educate them about fast food.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
