| Man who assaulted Knesset Member Elazar Stern |
(Scroll down for video) An illegal immigrant was arrested and charged with assault related charges after beating an Israeli Knesset Member in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv, according to police reports in Israel.
The Hatnua affiliated Knesset Member, Elazar Stern, was attacked on Sunday night by an illegal immigrant of Eritrea, while visiting neighborhoods in southern Tel Aviv.
Stern, came to southern of Tel Aviv, at the request of local residents, who have been suffering from endless harassment, fear and violence perpetrated by Eritrean and Sudanese illegals entering Israel to find jobs.
During the visit, Stern tried to cross a street along with area residents, when an illegal, tried to block their way. After one of the residents asked for the man to move aside in order to allow the delegation to pass, the illegal opened his shirt revealing a large cross, then, the man attacked Stern from behind and struck him in the head.
“The man should be deported immediately. It is unbelievable that the man, who is in Israel illegally, had the nerve to assault a Knesset Member. I wonder what would happen to this man if he would try to hurt an official in another country while being there illegally? Henry Webb of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the assault.
After the assault, Stern said: "This would not be tolerated anywhere else in the world, just in Israel."
