| Snake baked into bread |
A woman was shocked to discover a snake baked into her loaf of bread she just bought at her local bake shop, according to press reports in Texas, and images uploaded to the internet.
Last week, a user at a popular social media website posted an image of what appeared to be a snake baked into the loaf of bread. "My aunt found a long snake in her loaf of bread", the user wrote along with the image.
The user, humanimalcracker confirmed in the comments section that the bread in question was a loaf bought from the bake shop known as Mrs. Baird, a chain owned by Bimbo Bakeries. Mrs. Baird is popular in Texas and surrounding states.
Not surprisingly, Mrs. Baird bake shop denied that the story is true. "Such statements are almost never true," the bakery said in a statement. "This is not something you want to look at and say, 'Yes, this could have happened,’ This is a very strange statement," the bakery also said.
An employee of Mrs. Baird added that in the 25 years he has worked with Mrs. Baird, he had never heard of any incident like this.
“Wow, is all I can say. From now on, I have another thing to watch out for when buying bread. The snake probably became stuck in the sticky dough somehow,” Teresa Humphries, 49, of San Antonio, Texas told YourJewishNews.com after seeing the images.
The company also released an official statement regarding the snake incident.
“Mrs. Baird's Bakeries has a 105 year history of baking the highest quality, fresh products to consumers. This includes responding to consumer questions at the right time. Our customer service team has tried several times to identify the consumer who goes by the Reddit username "humanimalcracker" for a product sample for analysis.
According to Marshall Maddox, vice president of manufacturing services, the dubious area of bread in the photo is very likely a result of burn mass that was baked into bread. While this is a rare occurrence, it is not uncommon for consumers to confuse the burned mass for a foreign object. We ask that the person who posted the photo contact us at 800-984-0989 so we can arrange for an independent laboratory to examine the material in question.”
