A 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged with rape related charges after raping a U.S. tourist volunteering in Eilat, Israel, according to police reports in Eilat, Israel.
Police in the southern Israeli city of Eilat, on Saturday arrested the 15-year-old on suspicion that he had raped the U.S. tourist on Thursday night, while a second suspect, 25, was arrested as an accomplice to the rape.
The 29-year-old tourist, a volunteer at a kibbutz north of Eilat, went out at night with friend. After partying all night, she was looking for a ride back to her kibbutz.
Police said that the suspects approached the woman, who was drunk, and offered to take her to her destination.
When she agreed, they allegedly took her to a nearby bomb shelter and told her to wait there until morning, when they would take her back to the kibbutz.
The woman told police that a couple of hours later, the 16-year-old boy returned and raped her repeatedly till the morning.
Police eventually located the vehicle and arrested the two suspects near their workplace.
“Tourists need to be careful when going out at night alone drunk. It is recommended that friends should designate one friend who won’t be drinking. However, what this teen did is terrible and he should be punished to the fullest extent of the law,” Grace Kendel, 33, of Jercey City, New Jersey told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the arrest.
The 15-year-old boy was brought before a judge on Saturday and he was jailed pending the completion of the police investigation.
