A man was arrested and charged with domestic violence related charges after pouring a jar of coffee, a bag of sugar, and a pot of hot water on his wife’s head, according to police reports in Raanana, Israel.

Police identified the suspect as a 49-year-old man from Raanana. The man is accused of violently attacking his wife, pouring a bottle of coffee, a bag sugar and hot water from a pot on her head, then ordered her to clean up immediately or face a beating.

An indictment was filed Monday in the Kfar Saba court. The court documents state that the is accused of attacking his wife over a period of time. The suspect denied all the allegations.

Prosecutors asked the judge to keep the man in jail until after the trial because he has a history of beating his wife. "The defendant used brutal violence against his wife, and subjected her to acts of humiliation and heavy threats over an extended period of time,” prosecutors said.

According to the indictment, an argument broke out between the two, while the man was drinking beer and taking pills. As a result, the woman decided to leave the apartment. The defendant followed her outside, and broke her car side mirror and windshield.

The woman returned to the house, where she was attacked by her husband, who spilled coffee and sugar on her head and demanded that she clean it quickly.

In another incident that took place late last year, the man attacked his wife while under the influence of alcohol, pushed her against a wall and said: "You b****, trash, you're a s*** woman."

The husband then pulled down her pants, pulled her hair and hit her. According to the woman, her husband said he was not afraid to go to jail, as he had been imprisoned in the past.

“Women in Israel need to know that they do not have to tolerate domestic abuse. The quicker they seek professional help the better,” Arthur Ross, 46, a family therapist in Haifa, Israel told YourJewishNews.com after reading the story.

The husband was arrested last week after officers were called to the couple's home and found the woman crying, upset and dirty. During questioning, the man denied using violence.
