An Israeli soldier was arrested and charged with assault related charges after shooting at an Israeli female police officer, according to police reports in Tel Aviv, Israel.

The active duty soldier was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of firing his pellet gun at a police officer in the Or Yehuda area. Luckily, the police officer was not injured.

The soldier was brought before a judge in Tel Aviv for a bail hearing.
A police investigation indicated that the police officer had been driving home in a police car when a driver pulled out a pellet gun and fired at the direction of her vehicle. One bullet hit one of the side mirrors of the car.

The police officer quickly regained her composure and reported the shooting on her police radio and called for backup. Police at a nearby station rushed to the scene and began to chase the suspect.

Police eventually caught the suspect and discovered that the suspect had fired a pellet gun loaded with plastic bullets. “It is still unknown why the soldier shot at the police officer. It could have been an incident of road rage,” an independent observer of the case told YourJewishNews.com.

"If a bullet would have hit the police officer while driving it could have caused her death," a police source said.
Police arrested the soldier and confiscated his weapons.
