Bug in a kitchen illustration |
(Scroll down for video) This week, a video was made public that showed a large number of bugs invading an Israeli military kitchen.
After seeing the video, many soldiers are very angry.
Soldiers who serve at the Anathoth base near Jerusalem encountered in recent weeks cockroaches in the military kitchen. One angry soldier decided to record the bug invasion on video after bugs were creeping on his food.
"We are disgusted from the food, it's been going on for a long time and no one is doing anything," a soldier at the military base told an Israeli television news station. A number of soldiers attempted to clean the base from the bugs, but the strong anti bug chemicals failed to scare away the insects.
According to soldiers at the base, for a long time now, the cockroaches and other insects are in the food and especially the refrigerator. "Hundreds of soldiers eat in this dining room. Everything there is filthy and dirty, it endangers our health and then they wonder why we do not like to eat here," complained another soldier.
“The soldiers give their lives for the military and the country. Why should they receive such food and eat under these type of conditions? Military kitchens should be the cleanest kitchens in the world,” a father of an Israeli soldier complained to YourJewishNews.com.
The IDF said in response that "the appearance of cockroaches at the base in question was discovered last week, and immediate action was taken. The extermination process will continue until the base is clean from bugs.”
