A disabled woman was beaten for eating a piece of chicken, according to police reports in South Carolina.
A man was arrested and charged with assault related charged Sunday after Pacolet police said he attacked the woman after she ate the last piece of chicken at dinner.
According to an incident report from the Pacolet Police Department, 44-year-old Clifford Smith and others sat down to dinner on Sunday night, when a woman in a wheelchair ate the last piece of chicken. Smith then became upset and said he wanted the last piece of chicken, the report said.
The report said that Smith then hit the woman, broke a bottle of beer on the wall and then choked her.
Smith also destroyed the woman's cell phone when she tried calling police, the report said.
Smith was charged with simple assault and vandalism.
