(Scroll down for video) An Israeli man was arrested and charged with murder related charges after killing his elderly mother’s caretaker, according to police reports in Israel.
The body of the 35-year-old foreign worker from Moldova, was found in an apartment on Sinai Street, in the Israeli city of Ashkelon, Thursday night. Police suspect that the 51-year-old security guard shot the woman, who worked as a caretaker for his mother.
Magen David Adom paramedics were alerted to the scene around 10:00 pm and pronounced the woman dead. The woman died from bullet wounds to her head. A large police force arrived at the scene in order to arrest the security guard, who apparently was the one who reported the murder to the police. The suspect lives in the apartment with his mother and his wife. The caretaker lived with them in the apartment.
Ashkelon police chief Bublil Haim said the suspect was in possession of a firearm at the time of the arrest. One of tenants of the building, said: "I was watching a movie at home when suddenly I heard a series of shots. I thought that children were playing with firecrackers or something, and a few minutes later, my son called me and asked if I knew that someone was killed in the building. I never would have believed that he could kill someone.”
“These senseless killings and violence recently, has got to stop. No one gains when blood is spilled. All disputes need to be resolved peacefully or through the courts,” another neighbor told YourJewishNews.com.
In response to the recent increase in gun crimes, the Interior Security Minister, Yitzhak Aharonovitch, instructed his office to ensure that starting next month, security guards will be forbidden from taking their weapons home when they finish their shifts.
