An Israeli man said that he is extremely anxious as snow is preventing him from cashing in his winning lottery ticket.

The great storm over the weekend was a source of concern for many, but for one 50-year-old man of Jerusalem, the main concern was about a piece of paper.

The man was the lucky winner of 1,500,000 shekels or about $400,000.

On Thursday morning, the day the storm began, the man learned that he won the lottery he bought two days earlier. However, due to the bad weather conditions and roads blocked, the lucky winner, who is married and has two children, he was unable to get to the lottery headquarters to cash out his ticket.

"For three days, I was home with my wife and children without electricity. It was not easy, but clearly, the news about the winning the lottery lifted our spirits," the unidentified winner said.

The man revealed that he was extremely anxious that something might happen to the piece of paper that will destroy his dream.

"I held onto the ticket the entire time. The house was full of burning candles because the electricity was off. I was worried that the burning candles might cause a fire that will destroy the lottery ticket," he said.

"This is a wonderful gift," he added. "While 1,500,000 shekels is not a large amount of money, it will allow me to renovate the house. Tomorrow we’re going on a family vacation,” the winner said.
